Micha is one of the founders of the Sderot musical scene. He was born in Sderot and was recognized by his father at a very young age as a unique musical talent. With his father's encouragement he went on to perform in competitions, festivals and family and municipal events. All the kids in his block were singing and playing music and he flourished in this environment. However, at age nine tragedy hit when his father suddenly passed away. Micha lost interest in school and was losing direction. His mother had to take care of nine more children but she felt that he needed special attention and she decided to send him to a foster home. He ended up at the house of the famous Israeli author Galila Ron-Feder who based a popular children's book series on him. Later on Micha composed the theme song to the movie version of the book. After the army Micha studied theater in Tel Aviv but missed home and went back to live in Sderot where he formed his first band Tanara. Their first album came out in 1996 and became an instant hit. Although he was marked by the press as the next big thing Micha chose not to move back to the big city but to stay in the nearby village and work as a musical producer and a musician in Sderot. He founded the Performing Arts Center of Sderot and has been running it ever since. His 2nd record Nosea Ba-zman (Riding in Time) came out in 2004 and fused ethnicity and rock. Micha tours the country with the record in a show for children in which he shares his life story and lessons. He recently released a new record Ha-tzad ha-Muar (The Lighted Side).
